Old Work

Stuff from 40 years ago. Some of it by me, some of it by others, some of it I don't know. If you know, do tell!

Chicago-Junk-Edit-1
Probably the first photo I took that caught Herb Blizzard's attention.
Circa 1972 or 1973. The following image shows this building today.
It's on third avenue South of Yakima Avenue and North of Walnut in Yakima, WA.
Anybody want to guess who built this and what it originally housed?

 • Big-Scoop-Edit-1
The photo of mine that most impressed Herb Blizzard the instructor.
Also the only photo of mine to ever win an award.
 • Bridge-Edit-1
Perhaps the best of my series of attempts at this subject.

Chicago Junk as of 4/4/2010
Thanks to Ed B. for the photo
 • Peeling-Potatoes-Edit-1
One I staged and took as a class assignment. It is intended to duplicate, as closley as possible, a photograph by a historic photographer. Darned if I remember who the photographer I was copying was, but this has always been one of my favorites from that peoiod.
I sure had fun with Tri-X. :-)
 • Egg-Edit-1
Another class assignment gone bad. I impressed Bryden Stewart with this one.
I tried to reproduce this last year using my DSLR, and failed.
 • G&G-Edit-1
One I just did because.
This also caught Herb Blizzard's attention.
 • Lincoln-By-Mark-I-Edit-1b
I know this was taken by Mark I. One of only a few remaining photos of 'The Lincoln'.
This is from a print he gave me to put in my tool chest.
 • Mark-I-W-mit-&-ball-Edit-1
Another one staged by me for a class assignment. Probably 'Show action' or some such.
 • I can't figure out who took this. Maybe I did for a portrait assignment. Or maybe Mark did for a self portrait. Or maybe something else? Not sure why I have it, but here it is.
This one required extensive restoration in places. I don't guarantee accuracy.
